25th Amendment of US Constitution
The 25th Amendment to the US Constitution was an attempt to resolve the issues surrounding the office of US president. The amendment addresses what is to be done upon the death, removal or resignation of the president. In the aftermath of the recent storming of the US capitol, there have been calls for invocation of this amendment’s provision, specifically the 4th section. It requires the Vice President and the Cabinet to ascertain whether the President is incompetent and if found to be so, the office is filled in by the VP temporarily.
