Gatka

Gatka is an Indian martial art form that originated in Punjab in the 15th century. It is practiced for self-defence and as a sport by the Nihang Sikh warriors. It is a type of stick fighting where wooden sticks simulate swords. It was famously used during the Sikh Wars. It is often showcased during Sikh festivals. It was recently included by the sports ministry to the Khelo India Youth Games 2021.
