Management Effectiveness Evaluation of Protected Areas

Management Effectiveness Evaluation of Protected Areas is a key tool used by governments and international bodies to identify the strengths and weaknesses in protected area management systems. Recently, the Environment Ministry released the evaluation results of 146 national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in India. The best performing areas out of these 146 were identified to be Tirthan Wildlife Sanctuary and Great Himalayan National Park, both of which are in Himachal Pradesh.
