Report: unit increase in AI intensity can ensure 2.5% increase in Indian GDP

According to a report titled ‘Implications of AI on the Indian Economy’ by economic think tank, the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), a unit increase in artificial intelligence intensity, measured as the ratio of AI investments to total sales, can result in a 2.5 per cent increase India’s GDP in the immediate term.

Which country has joined an international panel for setting ethical guidelines for AI?

The US has joined an international panel for setting ethical guidelines for the use of Artificial Intelligence. The Trump Administration had earlier dismissed the idea of the Group of Seven countries in setting up the Global Partnership on AI. This is to counter China’s record of “twisting technology” to threaten civil liberties. The partnership comes nearly two years after the leaders of Canada and France announcing the formation of the group.
